‘Midsomer Murders’ goes global

Chrysalis Distribution has licensed various episodes of its long-running crime thriller series “Midsomer Murders” to broadcasters at Mipcom. France 3 is taking series seven and eight of the strand while South Africa’s SABC has acquired seven episodes from series five and six. A&E is acquiring series six.

The series of TV movies (41 so far have been made) is based on the Inspector Barnaby novels by mystery writer Caroline Graham. John Nettles (“Bergerac”) stars in the murder mysteries, which air on ITV in the U.K.
