Sony Pictures Television has sold rerun rights to “King of Queens” to Fox-owned Los Angeles stations KTTV and KCOP.
Deal completes the sale of the show in the top three markets, clearing it in 98% of the country for its off-network premiere. Skein sold to Gotham (WNYW) and Chicago (WCIU) in March. Series’ national syndication launch is skedded for Sept. 15.
The parties declined to discuss license fees.
Repeats of “King,” starring Kevin James, Leah Remini and Jerry Stiller, will begin running concurrently on TBS Superstation in fall 2006.
CBS laffer, which moves to Wednesdays at 9 this fall, just ended its fifth season rated No. 1 in its timeslot for households and total viewers. “King” is produced by Hanley Prods. and CBS Prods., in association with Sony Pictures Television. Series was co-created by David Litt and Michael J. Weithorn. Josh Goldsmith, Cathy Yuspa, Kevin James, Tony Sheehan and Weithorn exec produce.
