Members of the Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees have ratified a four-year contract with Los Angeles-based Tribune television station KTLA.
The members approved the deal by a 56-4 vote, representing a 93% endorsement of the pact with the Tribune-owned station.
The agreement includes gains for members from IATSE Locals 600, 695, 700 and 800, including 3% wage hikes in the second, third and fourth year and a $1,400 signing bonus for each staff employee.
The pact also includes creation of three additional technical specialist positions (designed to protect some employees from layoffs) and removal of contract language that dealt with layoffs due to technical changes.
The agreement goes into effect Aug. 1. International rep Michael Miller Jr. headed the negotiating team.
