The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees has signed a collective bargaining agreement with (Politicalproductions.com), a specialist in staging high-profile political events.
IATSE said the pact is the first national contract of its kind, giving Politicalproductions.com the ability to cover both traveling employees and local hires.
“This is a groundbreaking contract for the IATSE, making this the first time we have reached an agreement with a company whose focus is politically based,” said IATSE prexy Thomas Short. “Politicalproductions.com is an active and vital entity and the IATSE looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with this company.”
Politicalproductions.com is a spinoff of Michigan-based Pegasus Theatrical, which has been producing political events for more than 20 years including the Desert Storm Victory Celebration, tours with President Clinton, Elizabeth Dole’s national convention floor speech, and a post-9/11 speech by President Bush. It has offices in Detroit and Washington, D.C., and plans to open another in Des Moines, Iowa.
