First Pokemon did it; then Harry Potter did it even bigger: How to turn a kids property into a global licensing and merchandising juggernaut will be the subject of a pair of gabfests during the 11th annual Mipcom Jr. Oct. 8-9.

4Kids Entertainment chair-CEO Al Kahn and Warner Bros. Consumer Products exec VP Jordan Sollitto will take delegates into the particulars of their licensing and merchandising strategies Oct. 8.

Both companies have built global licensing programs for a variety of properties, including Harry Potter (Warner Bros.) and Pokemon (4Kids).

On Oct. 9, leading licensing experts will gather for the panel “Brand Builders and Profit Drivers.” Kids producer Alice Donenfeld, MTV Networks’ Jean-Philippe Randisi and Sesame Workshop’s Martha Van Gelder are among those who will unveil strategies to turn entertainment properties into profitable revenue channels.
