HBO chairman-CEO Chris Albrecht will deliver this year’s Worldview Address on the global TV business Aug. 24 at the Edinburgh Intl. Television Festival, his first major speech in Europe.
Albrecht joined HBO in June 1985 as senior VP of original programming, West Coast, overseeing HBO and Cinemax. He was prexy of HBO Independent Prods. from 1990-95 and was responsible for successful comedy series including “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
Before HBO, Albrecht spent five years with ICM, where he was instrumental in signing Jim Carrey, Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg.
