French TV ad revenue expected to soar

Mipcom 2003 Brief

France’s cable and satellite channels ad market share has quadrupled in the past five years and ad revs are expected to increase 15% in 2004 thanks to the lifting of a ban on TV commercials for books and supermarkets.

But the webs fear they may be obliged by new broadcasting quotas to spend the extra cash on French programming, the Association of Cable and Satellite Channels said at Mipcom.
