French titles at AFM


“Brotherhood of the Wolf” thesp Samuel Le Bihan and newcomer Yu Nan star in this “Romeo and Juliet”-style tale of love and revenge set in Paris’ Chinatown. The $6 million pic was helmed by Karim Dridi, whose last film, music docu “Cuba Feliz,” screened in Cannes’ sidebar Directors Fortnight in 2000. Distribbers sat on the floor of a crowded screening room to make sure they got an early peek at “Rage” during Unifrance’s European Rendezvous of French Cinema in January.

The Adventures of Mike S. Blueberry

Buyers are expecting big things from Franco-Dutch helmer Jan Kounen’s first directorial outing since his ultraviolent fast-paced shocker “Dobermann” hit screens in 1997. Described as a supernatural Western, the ambitious $40-million English-lingo comic-strip adaptation stars Gallic thesp Vincent Cassel in the title role. Cast includes Juliette Lewis, Michael Madsen and Eddie Izzard.
