Fox, Eye party down with TV crix

Club Splash, Lucky Strike bowl over funseekers

HOLLYWOOD — Weary television critics, in town for their semiannual press tour, got their groove on over the weekend at bashes thrown by Fox and CBS.

Eye sometimes takes a backseat to Fox in the hipness department, but this year the net upped the phat factor by picking the oh-so-Right-Now hot spot Lucky Strike Lanes for a sizzlin’ Sunday soiree featuring the stars of the net’s new and returning fall skeins.

In addition to traditional thesps — think Doris Roberts, David James Elliott, Charlie Sheen, Tyne Daly, Joe Mantegna and Randy Quaid — the Eye also brought out its reality all-stars. Biggest draw: “Survivor” hotties Jenna Morasca and Heidi Strobel. Exec-wise, CBS chairman-CEO Leslie Moonves virtually closed the joint down, while entertainment prexy Nancy Tellem held court. “CSI” creator Anthony Zuiker was stylin’ in his black jumpsuit. On Friday, Fox turned a portion of the Pacific Design Center into Club Splash. Keifer Sutherland maintained his perfect attendance record at summer press tour parties. Fox toppers Sandy Grushow mingled with his stars and producers. Entertainment chief Gail Berman seemingly shook hands with Every Single Person, including slimmed-down 20th Century Fox TV prexy Gary Newman and his wife, power lawyer Jeanne Newman.
