“Faking It,” which aired on Channel 4 in the U.K., took top gong at an awards ceremony dominated by British programs. RDF has won a raft of awards for the format, including two Baftas and an International Emmy.
It’s the first time that Montreux has had a reality category.
Silver Rose went to “Men Are Better Than Women At….?” produced by 12 Yard Productions for Discovery U.K. and the Bronze went to London Weekend Television’s ITV series “Home On Their Own.”
In the comedy section, the Silver Rose was presented to Avalon Television for “The All New Harry Hill Show” and Bronze was picked up by Talkback Productions “Smack The Pony.”
BBC sitcom “The Office,” was singled out by the Grand Jury, and won the Silver Rose while Bronze was awarded to “Puppets Who Kill” from Canadian indie PWK Productions.
U.K. formats also stole the gameshow awards with Talkback’s E4 series “Your Face Or Mine” winning Silver and “International King of Sports,” produced by Endemol U.K. for channel Five taking Bronze.
The International Emmy’s semi-final jury, which also met during the festival, selected Bronze Rose winner “Home on Their Own” and 12 Yard’s other Rose d’Or entry “Without Prejudice?”
