Easy Outings: Dick Askin

President/CEO, Tribune Entertainment

“New Orleans is synonymous with NATPE of the past, particularly the excesses of the business. The Old Absinthe House on Bourbon Street and Pat O’Brien’s … how many other cities do you know of where you can run into dozens of old friends or acquaintances from the business at one watering hole? Delmonico, Commander’s Palace, Broussard’s or Felix’s for their oysters; the dining experience alone is unlike any other city. Everything about New Orleans — the food, music, hotels, French Quarter, 24/7 nature of the city — brings back memories of some of the most memorable NATPE conventions. Leaving New Orleans is like the passing of an era. The convention won’t be the same without out this city. I’ll miss everything about it.”
