‘Cupid’ enters format fray

FremantleMedia will sell a wide range of formats, including proven hits like “Star Search,” relationship show “Cupid” and sparkling lifestyle show ‘ “How Clean Is Your House?” And for those who just can’t wait for the weekend, there’s “Finally Friday!”

“Cupid” is a show that allows the public to play matchmaker. Forget those dating shows where you scream at the screen because the girl’s picked the “wrong” guy. Now you can do something about it.

Fremantle’s catalog also comprises a mixture of innovative and classic gameshows, including “Distraction,” a trivia quiz that asks easy questions – but distracts the contestants so it’s almost impossible to give the answers.

“The success of FremantleMedia’s smash-hit entertainment format ‘Idols’ demonstrates the continuing appetite amongst audiences worldwide for talent-based entertainment shows,” says Stephanie Hartog, controller of entertainment, acquisitions and resources.
