Canada’s Cinar will hit the Croisette with a new prexy-CEO, Stuart Snyder; a newly revitalized management team; and new programs.
Cinar is developing a number of projects, spearheaded by children’s programming maven Alice Cahn. And the company has established a live entertainment division.
“This year’s Mipcom is a benchmark for Cinar. Buyers will see that we have grown beyond edutaining preschool animation to include viable live-action and animated programming for children of all ages,” Snyder says.
Among the new offerings are “The Strip,” a half-hour that combines live action and animation to chronicle the lives of 14-year-old fraternal twins Cally and Lance, and “Postcards From Buster,” a spinoff of Emmy-winning series “Arthur.”
