Gold Circle Films will fully finance and produce a reality-based feature entitled “The Bachelor Party,” chronicling the bawdy events that occur in the hours leading up several weddings. It will be produced by Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer and Brillstein-Grey.
Pic, which will begin production in early summer, is being produced by Gold Circle prexy Paul Brooks, Friedberg and Seltzer and exec produced by Peter Safran. Gold Circle will also release pic Stateside.
“Party” will take an uncensored look at the craziness of the pre-wedding ritual of debauchery, focusing on a number of brides and grooms from different social, economic and ethnic backgrounds. “From Jewish to Waspy, from white trash to African-American, we are going to display quite a range of diverse ways of partying in cities around the country,” said Brooks.
Friedberg and Seltzer previously penned Dimension Films’ hit “Scary Movie” and “Spy Hard” for Touchstone Pictures.
Gold Circle’s first theatrical release was the indie megahit “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”
