Alphabet bolsters ‘Kimmel’

Senior VP Greene to o'see all latenight entertainment

NEW YORK — ABC said Tuesday it has hired former UPN exec Danielle Greene as senior veep of latenight, a new position largely dedicated to “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The hire is effective immediately.

In her new gig, Greene — who left UPN in spring 2002 — will be responsible for all latenight entertainment, although her primary focus will be Kimmel’s midnight show.

At UPN, Greene was VP of comedy and alternative development, helping to develop “Girlfriends,” as well as returning comedies “The Parkers,” “One on One” and “Half & Half.” Previously at UPN, Greene headed current programming, shepherding the launch of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Enterprise.”
