ABC News has tapped Paul Mason to exec produce a series of editions for the new Monday version of “Primetime,” which bows Sept. 15.
A 22-year veteran of the news division, Mason has been the executive producer of the weekend editions of “World News Tonight” since May 2000.
Monday edition of “Primetime,” which will air at 8 p.m. ET and follow “Monday Night Football” on the West Coast, will originate from a different city each week, including Miami, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Nashville, New Orleans and New York.
“Paul brings to his new position deep and broad experience, together with great creativity and intellect, all of which will help ensure the success of our important, new ventures in primetime,” ABC News prexy David Westin said. “At a time when so much of what we see tends to appear the same, Paul has helped us take a different look at the news and present it in compelling ways.”
