“The Shield” star Michael Chiklis and “Malcolm in the Middle’s” Jane Kaczmarek have been tapped to announce the 55th annual Primetime Emmy Awards nominations on July 17.
Chiklis and Kaczmarek will join outgoing TV Academy chairman Bryce Zabel, all of whom will reveal the noms at 5:38 a.m. from the org’s North Hollywood headquarters.
Chiklis surprised oddsmakers last year with his Emmy win for actor in a drama series; Kaczmarek has been nominated three times in a row for the comedic actress trophy.
The four-minute announcement, broadcast live to the East Coast in order to accommodate the morning news programs, will reveal nominations in the top 10 Emmy categories. The 55th annual Primetime Emmys are slated to air Sept. 21 on Fox from the Shrine Auditorium.
