Christopher to receive nod Feb. 14 at BevHilton
Roy Christopher, winner of seven Primetime Emmys and a 32-time Emmy nominee, has been tapped for the Art Directors Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The kudos will be presented during the Eighth Annual AD Guild Awards on Feb. 14 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
His credits include “Welcome Back Kotter”; “Chico and the Man”; “Murphy Brown”; “Frasier”; “Becker”; “A Minute With Stan Hooper”; specials starring Jack Benny, George Burns, Carol Burnett, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Richard Pryor; a number of Tony and Emmy kudocasts; and his record-breaking 14 Academy Award productions including this year’s, for which he won his seventh Emmy.
Christopher also has scenic design credits including the Broadway productions of “A Woman of Independent Means” and the current “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks,” plus many regional theatrical productions, including the world premiere of Neil Simon’s “Oscar and Felix” at the Geffen Playhouse, “As Bees in Honey Drown” at the Pasadena Playhouse and “Lyndon” at the Kennedy Center.
