Sony Music has promoted Nancy Marcus Seklir to senior vice president, business affairs. She’ll be responsible for the negotiation of new artist deals, label deals and joint ventures as well as overseeing business affairs relating to the company’s Nashville artists.
Marcus Seklir has been VP of business affairs, East Coast, since 1998. She joined Sony Music Entertainment in 1993 as counsel, and was promoted to director of business affairs, East Coast, in 1995. Before that, she was a corporate associate with New York-based law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
“Nancy will now take on an enhanced role in the overall direction of our area as we address the new challenges of our business,” said Ron Wilcox, executive VP, business affairs and new technology, Sony Music Entertainment.
