U's Horowitz, Sony's Anthony head committee
A committee of senior music executives will meet today to interview candidates to replace Hilary Rosen, the outgoing head of the Recording Industry Assn. of America and one of Washington’s best-known lobbyists. The search committee, composed of music executives including Universal Records president Zack Horowitz and Sony Music’s Michele Anthony, will meet at the New York office of headhunting firm Korn/Ferry Intl., sources said. The RIAA and Korn/Ferry declined comment. Industry sources have long speculated the trade group may pick someone with ties to the Republican Party to maximize its influence with Congress and the White House. Rosen will be honored next week at a farewell party in Washington. The tough and articulate advocate for the record industry shocked many in January when she announced plans to leave the trade group to spend more time with her life partner, Elizabeth Birch, and their two children.
