New division up, running
Gotham post-production shingle Magno Sound is launching Magno Music to provide original music composition and sound design services to television, film and advertising companies.
New division is up and running and has projects “in the hopper,” according to Jennifer Fish, managing director of Magno Music.
The launch was more a matter of reorganizing than building, Fish said. “It’s a synergy. It was a matter of consolidating our mixing facilities, management and staff.” No additional staff was hired for the music shop.
Magno Music’s creative is headed by composers Greg Laporta and Ernie Savage.
“The creation of Magno Music fills a defined need on the East Coast’s production scene,” said David Friedman, exec VP for Magno. “We’re offering television and film companies the cutting-edge product typically associated with a boutique music house, combined with the support of a large facility.”
Magno Sound was founded in 1950.
