Italo toon house joins NDF in three projects

COLOGNE — Italy’s Mondo Group has signed up with Neue Deutsche Filmgesellschaft (NDF) for the production of two animated bigscreen pics and a TV series, the second 26-episode season of “Letters From Felix.” The budget for the series and two movies is $5.8 million. Mondo will exclusively own Italian and Spanish-lingo rights, and co-own worldwide rights. It’s the first German co-prod for the Italian company. Other partners in the projects are Caligari Film and pubcaster ZDF.

In April, NDF management bought out the 90% of the company, which has annula sales of some $75 million, that had been held by Kirch Group’s unit Taurus Produktion.
