Canada’s Industry Minister Allan Rock arrives in India today to promote ties between the two countries’ animation industries.

In Mumbai the minister will meet a delegation from the Animation Producers’ Assn. of India to focus on facilitating the signing of the Indo Canadian Co-Production Treaty and areas of co-production.

Founding member and representa-tive of APAI Bhuvan Lall, told Daily Variety: “Indian animation studios are already doing projects with Canadian companies, and we wish to encourage this through APAI. We are also keen to set up animation training schools in India.”

APAI plans to take a high-level trade delegation to Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal in 2004 to promote the international alliance.
