Ibope begins ratings service anew

World Brief

Ratings agency Ibope has restarted its overnight service in Argentina, nearly six months after a hacker forced it to cut its lag in reporting audience levels to 48 hours.

Ibope Argentina suspended its service for three weeks in April and May after the hacker exposed about 200 homes — nearly a quarter of its panel — used to measure viewing habits, compromising the transparency of Argentina’s only major ratings provider.
