After postponing its Broadway arrival in early June, “Little Shop of Horrors” will begin previews at the Virginia Theater on Aug. 29, only two weeks later than the originally planned date of Aug. 14.
Kerry Butler, who originated the role of Penny Pingleton in Broadway’s “Hairspray,” will star as Audrey; Alice Ripley had been announced initially.
Hunter Foster will ankle “Urinetown” to take the role of Seymour.
He’ll be joined by Douglas Sills (dentist Orin Scrivello), Michael Leon Wooley (the Voice of Audrey II) and Rob Bartlett (Mushnik), as well as Carla J. Hargrove, Trisha Jeffrey and Dequina Moore.
Production, directed by Jerry Zaks, is scheduled to open Oct. 4.
