MCC unveils ’03-04 season

Preem of 'Bright' to open, LaBute's 'Distance' closes

The MCC Theater has announced its 2003-04 season, during which it will present plays by Neil LaBute, Eric Coble and Bryony Lavery.

The season opens in November with the world premiere of Coble’s “Bright Ideas,” in which two parents take extreme measures to secure their child a place in an exclusive school.

“Frozen” follows in March. First presented at London’s Royal National Theater, Lavery’s play follows three people who are connected by the circumstances of one child’s disappearance. Doug Hughes directs.

“The Distance From Here” concludes the MCC season in April. The play, in which LaBute provides another lacerating look at life in suburbia, was first presented at London’s Almeida Theater.
