David Fleer, Erik Moe, and Peter Rudy co-directed this modestly budgeted road comedy about a bunch of thirtyish high school buddies from Kenosha Catholic Academy on their annual “high school hockey road trip” — driving around Wisconsin to follow the statewide tournament. Pic won awards for comedy and narrative feature at the 2003 Santa Monica Film Festival. While generally amusing and occasionally moving, it centers on overly familiar conflicts about aging Peter Pans accepting adulthood. Positive reviews may produce mild success on the indie circuit.

Owen (Jim Gaffigan), obsessed with his minute-by-minute preplanned itinerary, scoops his best friends (T.J. Jagodowski, Michael Gilio, Jed Resnik) into a rickety panel truck. One by one, they abandon him — each desertion overschematically representing a different aspect of aging: health, family, business commitments. Standouts are Gaffigan and Ian Brennan (as the blank-faced teenager who worships Owen). Tech credits are competent, with occasional rough spots.
