HOLLYWOOD — Ron Underwood will direct psychological thriller “Gravity” for Remstar Prods. Lensing is scheduled to begin early next year in Canada.
Written by Bill Kelly, pic follows the collective stress and claustrophobia of an airplane’s passengers, which sets off an unruly traveler and threatens to bring down the flight.
Sunil Perkash, Clark Peterson and Remstar CEO Maxime Remillard will produce the project.
Pic was formerly set up at Disney. Remstar is now the sole financier of the pic’s $10 million budget.
Underwood and Kelly are repped by UTA. Helmer’s credits include “Tremors,” “City Slickers” and, most recently, “Stealing Sinatra” for Showtime.
Kelly’s credits include New Line Cinema’s “Blast From the Past.” He also wrote “Enchanted,” which Adam Shankman is attached to direct at Disney.
Peterson produced “Monster,” which Newmarket Films will release in December.
Montreal-based financing and production company Remstar recently completed production on John Duigan’s “Head in the Clouds.”
