Swedish fund makes ‘Threat’

Swedish director Kjell Sundvall’s spy thriller “The Threat” is one of four pics to share $2.6 million in subsidy from the Swedish Film Institute.

Sundvall’s “The Guy in the Grave Next Door” was last year’s local chartbuster with 835,507 admissions.

Shanti Roney, Maria Bonnevie (“I Am Dina”) and Stefan Sauk play the leads in the Cinema Art/Breidablick Film, which will be domestically released in January by Universal Pictures Nordic Sonet Film.

The institute also supported Alexander Moberg’s feature debut, relationship drama “MGP,” which started principal photography Monday. The film is produced by Mepo Film.

Anders Nilsson will conclude his trilogy on police detective Johan Falk in “The Third Wave,” produced by Sonet Film, and Ella Lemhagen will direct kidpic “Roundtrip” for FilmLance Intl.
