With the success of Ram Gopal Varma’s “Bhoot” (Ghost), flop-scarred Bollywood has realized there’s cash to be made in sus-pense. Another 10 suspense/horror movies have been lined up at a combined cost of some $8 million.
Two titles were released Friday — “Darna Mana Hai” (Don’t Be Afraid) and “88 Antop Hill” — with the rest coming in the next few months.
“Bhoot” was Bollywood’s first hit of the year, recouping its $1.3 million outlay in the first week of release. Its popularity was boosted by news that a patron died of a heart attack while watching the movie, with news spreading that he had been frightened to death by the spooky pic.
