Distribber lands worldwide rights to true story pic

MADRID — Sogecable distribution house Sogepaq has taken worldwide rights to “Flying Saucers,” a Spanish-lingo pic based on the true story of two Spaniards who planned to travel to Jupiter in the ’70s.

Pic is directed by Oscar Aibar (“Atolladero”) and is a co-production of Pedro Costa’s Didac Films and Enrique Cerezo PC.

“Saucers,” toplining Jordi Vilches (“Krampack”) and Angel de Andres (“800 Bullets”), tells of the strange friendship between two men swept up in their obsession with UFOs who were later found dead. Next to them was a note: “The extraterrestrials are calling for us, we belong to the infinite.”

“Flying Saucers” will be released in Spain on Nov. 7 by Warner Sogefilms, a joint venture between Spanish pay TV leader Sogecable and Warner Bros.. It will go out on 70 prints.
