Shoreline to open ‘Eyes’

Multi-hyphenate McCarthy's pic to bow in Boston

Shoreline Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to Shooting Spree pic “Irish Eyes.”

Crime drama, co-starring Daniel Baldwin and John Novak, is the debut effort of scribe-helmer-producer Daniel McCarthy, who heads Shooting Spree.

Shoreline CEO Morris Ruskin moved quickly to nab the pic, calling “Eyes” a gripping drama.

McCarthy cited Shoreline’s enthusiasm and experience as his reasons for partnering for an Oct. 24 eight-screen bow in Boston.

“Irish Eyes” is the story of two Irish brothers who grow up in Boston on opposing sides of the law after they witness their father’s murder.

Pic was well received at the Canuck Tidal Wave Film Festival, winning an audience award, and was an official selection for 2003 fests in Milan, Italy; Gotham; and Boston.

“Eyes” will be one of 25 films unspooling in Shoreline’s Mifed lineup.
