Schwerin flips to VP slot at Double Nickel

Ex-Dimension exec was involved in 'Scary' franchise

Peter Schwerin has been named VP of production and development at Double Nickel Entertainment, reporting to Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman.

Before joining Double Nickel, Schwerin spent six years at Dimension Films. As VP of production and development, he acquired and exec produced Dimension’s highest-grossing film, “Scary Movie,” and its sequel “Scary Movie 2.” He also co-produced “Backstage,” the documentary based on the Jay-Z/DMX Hard Knock Life tour and oversaw Charles Stone’s directorial debut, “Paid in Full.”

At Dimension, Schwerin was also involved with Robert Rodriguez’s “The Faculty,” Guillermo del Toro’s “Mimic,” the Marlon Wayans vehicle “Senseless” and the Ewan McGregor/Nick Nolte thriller “Nightwatch.”

Before joining Dimension, Schwerin worked as a paralegal on civil rights and corporate law cases.
