Co. to distribute, co-produce local projects

COPENHAGEN — Distributor Scanbox Entertainment Danmark plans to up investment in Scandinavian features.

“The national market shares for domestic productions are soaring in Scandinavia,” explained Scanbox managing director Jørgen Kristiansen. “In Denmark it has been 30% for the last couple of years so local films have become hot property. Besides securing them by distribution guarantees, we are now increasingly entering as co-producers.”

The Copenhagen-based company handles 75-80 mainly international productions annually, including 18-20 for cinema, through a joint venture with Angel Films in Denmark, Triangel Film in Sweden, Finnkino in Finland, and with its own set-up in Norway.
