The publicists of the Intl. Cinematographers Guild have tapped Clint Eastwood for a lifetime achievement award, to be presented at the 41st annual Publicists Awards Feb. 27 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
“He is one of the most prolific, versatile artists in the history of the medium, involving himself first as an actor, then as a director and producer,” said awards committee chairman Henri Bollinger. “Clint’s remarkable achievements have been fueled by his enormous box office appeal. His ongoing body of work is without peer. He is clearly a film icon, having starred in 45 films, appearing in 56; directed 24; and produced 19.”
Other awards to be presented at the luncheon are the Motion Picture Showmanship Award; the Television Showmanship Award; the Press Award; the Intl. Media Award; the Maxwell Weinberg Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the field of publicity in movies and TV; the Les Mason Award, given to a publicist for lifetime achievement; and the Bob Yeager Award, which recognizes significant community service.
