Ontario lobbying org names chief

Nascent lobby group FilmOntario has tapped Sarah Ker-Hornell managing director.

A founding member of the Commercial Production Assn. of Toronto, Ker-Hornell has 20 years’ experience in the biz. Her role will be to ensure there is one strong united voice promoting Ontario as a world-class film and television center. She will be based in Toronto.

FilmOntario, a film and TV consortium of more than 30 companies, unions, guilds and associations, formed in June to beat the drum for lensing in Canada’s most populous province.

The consortium is recruiting for a chief for its soon-to-be-opened Los Angeles office.
