Film funding body Filmstiftung NRW has handed out $9.5 million for 38 productions including pics by Thomas Vinterberg and Sandra Nettelbeck.
The body slated the largest single amount, $1.7 million, to the “Seven Dwarfs” by Sven Unterwaldt Jr. Pic features standup comedian Otto.
Sandra Nettelbeck, helmer of “Mostly Martha,” netted $1.4 million for her new project, “Helen”, to be filmed in Germany and in the U.S.
Helmer Vinterberg received $740,000 for his “Dear Wendy,” after Filmstiftung granted an earlier sum to Lars von Trier for the script.
Filmstiftung also reported that the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia has announced $16 million more financial aid for film and TV production.
