Fade In magazine has tapped Al LaSorte grand prize winner of its seventh annual screenwriting awards competish.
LaSorte’s thriller “Burned” concerns a female litigator who faces a ethical crisis when recruited to file a suit against a company that may have been responsible for her father’s death.
The Florida-based attorney will now jet to Los Angeles to shop his script.
Finalists, selected from a pool of 1,800 applicants in six categories, include Sharlin Quest, Stephen Hart and Greg McIntosh in the drama category; Tom Lavagnino and Shann Daniel Hurst, comedy; Ken Collins, action; Ethan Erwin, Marty Musatov and Michael Gardina, thriller; Michael Kinney and Debbie Lollie, noir; and F.M. Strype and Dominic Inzana, shorts.
The glossy has committed to aid the finalists in developing and producing their screenplays.
Competish, established in 1996 to assist new writers in gaining recognition, has honored such scribes as Jon Bokenkamp (“Taking Lives”) and Will Speck (“Culture”).
