Ethan Hawke will be honored at the 4th annual Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Young Friends of Film gala tribute on June 3.
Event recognizes contemporary actor or director who is admired by young film lovers.
Evening will feature clips from Hawke’s work and words from his friends and colleagues, followed by fete at The Kaplan Penthouse.
Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Liev Schreiber, Uma Thurman, Steve Zahn and helmers Richard Linklater and Michael Almereyda are expected to attend.
In his career, Hawke has worn hats of novelist (“The Hottest State,”) thesp (“Training Day”) and helmer (“Chelsea Walls”); he is currently working on his next film, “Taking Lives,” in which he stars with Angelina Jolie.
Previous Young Friends honorees have included Kevin Bacon, John Turturro and last year’s recipient, Jennifer Jason Leigh.
