'Schmidt' tops Golden Trailer awards with four nods
“About Schmidt” and “The Hours” nabbed top honors Thursday at the fourth annual Golden Trailer Awards, for best comedy and best drama respectively.
Kudofest, which celebrated pic trailers in 16 categories ranging from action to voiceover, was held at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Comedian Dennis Miller emceed the event.
In all, “Schmidt” nabbed four awards, having also taken the voiceover, music and best of show categories.
Other winners included: “Bowling for Columbine” (documentary); “Spirited Away” (family/animation); “Secretary” (romance); “Read My Lips” (most original; foreign); “The Rules of Attraction” (trashiest); “The Fast Runner” (independent); “The Ring” (horror/thriller); “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” (action); “12 Twisted Freaks” (best trailer, no movie); and “Blue Crush” (Golden Fleece — best trailer, worst movie).
