Konrad taps Nemes as veep

Exec to co-produce 'Pretty Persuasion'

Scott Nemes has been hired at Cathy Konrad’s Konrad Pictures as senior VP production.

Pics in development at Konrad include “Walk the Line,” a Johnny Cash biopic with Joaquin Phoenix attached to star. James Mangold will direct and is writing the script with Gill Dennis.

Konrad also is developing “3:10 to Yuma,” set up at Columbia Pictures, with Michael Brandt and Derek Haas writing for Mangold to direct.

Nemes spent the last three years at Immortal Entertainment, where he co-produced the upcoming “My Baby’s Mama” for Miramax Films and exec produced “Full Clip” for Lions Gate Films and VH1 reality show “Rock the House.”

Upcoming, Nemes will co-produce “Pretty Persuasion,” with Evan Rachel Wood, James Woods, Christina Applegate and Ron Livingston attached to star and Marcos Siega directing.

Prior to Immortal, Nemes was VP of production at Penny Marshall’s Parkway Prods.
