Independent auditor called in after kudos postponed

AUCKLAND — Members of New Zealand’s Assn. of Film and Television Arts will meet this week to consider a report on troubled finances.

An independent auditor was called in earlier this month after the New Zealand Film Awards were postponed due to lack of a sponsor. No new date has been suggested.

The New Zealand Television Awards were delayed two months due to similar sponsor woes.

No film kudos were held last year because there had been too few meeting the release criteria.

The kudos lineup this year includes “Whale Rider,” “For Good,” “Kombi Nation,” “The Locals,” “The Maori Merchant of Venice,” “The Nemesis Game” and “Toy Love.”
