Kahn to top Gotham Women in Film

Scholastic VP tapped to take over femme org

New York Women in Film & Television has named Linda Kahn as president, replacing former prexy Marcie L. Setlow.

Kahn is currently senior VP programming and distribution at Gotham-based Scholastic Entertainment, where she overseas global branding activities and product extensions into TV, video, character licensing and interactive.

Prior to joining Scholastic in 1995, Kahn spent 12 years as an exec at Nickelodeon and MTV Network.

NYWIFT is dedicated to helping women move up the ladder in the film and TV business. It produces more than 50 programs and special events annually, including the Muse awards, honoring female role models in the entertainment industry. Past recipients include Meryl Streep, Nora Ephron and Barbara Walters.

The New York association is in its 25th year and counts 1,250 women working in all areas of film, TV and new media.

Parent org Women in Film & Television Intl. has a network of 40 chapters representing 10,000 members.
