L.A.-based production and sales shingle Dream Entertainment has picked up international rights to Alex Steyermark’s directorial debut “Prey for Rock & Roll,” the music-driven drama starring Gina Gershon.
Mac Releasing will release the film in North America. Lions Gate Films is handling home entertainment distribution. Dream will debut the pic for international buyers at Mifed.
“This film delivers a punch that will sell worldwide,” said Ehud Bleiberg, chairman-CEO of Dream Entertainment. “It’s a real inside look at the rock ‘n’ roll world, with a performance-of-a-lifetime by Gina Gershon, a supporting cast of funny, sexy, tough-as-nails women and a great soundtrack.”
Dream VP of sales and acquisitions Nadine de Barros negotiated the rights deal with Cinetic Media’s Matt Littin repping the film’s producers Donovan Mannato, Gina Resnick and Gershon.
In recent weeks, Gershon has been conducting a multicity promotional concert tour. Cabler the Independent Film Channel is producing a six-part documentary series on the tour.
