Pic will consist entirely of 3-D CG animation
HOLLYWOOD — Visionbox Pictures has joined with X-42 Prods. to greenlight animated feature “The Chosen One,” starring the voices of Tim Curry, Traci Elizabeth Lords, Lance Henriksen, Chris Sarandon, Laura Prepon, Debra Wilson and Danielle Fishel.
Visionbox CEO John Manulis and X-42’s Andreas Olavarria will produce the film. Story concerns the misadventures of an average Joe from Iowa who is named the Messiah by the leader of an oddball cult and must travel to Kansas to receive a message from God that will save a rapidly disintegrating civilization.
Script was written by Chris Lackey, writer-producer of online animated series “The Investigators,” and Chad Fifer. Lackey will direct. Visionbox execs Chris Miller and Lulu Zezza will exec produce, and Diana Tauder will be associate producer.
Film will consist entirely of 3-D computer-generated animation, with all work created in Los Angeles under director of animation Elliot Lorman. Visionbox is a unit of Visionbox Media Group, which has backed a series of digitally shot indie pics, including “Charlotte Sometimes” and “Falling Like This.” Formed specifically for the project, X-42 is associated with Bossa Nova Prods.
