Condor eyes facility

World Brief

International post-production network Condor is investing $3.6 million in a new facility in Cape Town, opening in July.

Condor Cape Town is a joint venture between Condor Europe, which operates in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and Brussels; Sasani, the largest facilitator of film and TV production in Johannesburg and Cape Town; and Mike Smit, founder of the Video Lab Group and Media Host, a digital media solutions company in South Africa.

“Cape Town was the obvious choice for me in looking to extend the Condor network,” said Condor proprietor Rob Meddens. “Many of our established and potential European clients regularly make use of Cape Town as a location for their shoots.”

The Cape Film Commission has welcomed the development.
