Col’s Giannetti to exec VP

Prod'n head's recent projects include 'Mexico,' 'Angels'

Andrea Giannetti has been named executive vice president for production at Columbia Pictures, the Culver City studio announced Wednesday.

Giannetti’s most recent projects include the development and production of Robert Rodriguez’s “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” and “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.” She is currently at work on Tim Burton’s “Big Fish,” starring Ewan McGregor and Jessica Lange.

Projects in development include “The Dinner Party,” with Bernie Mac; “Hot Wheels,” based on the Mattel toy cars; and a feature version of the television series “I Dream of Jeannie.”

“Andrea is respected industrywide for her ability to find and develop projects that inspire talent and her colleagues,” said Col Pictures prexy Peter Schlessel. Giannetti joined Col in 1998 as director of development. She was then upped to VP of production in 1999 and a year later to senior VP of production.
