Flemish production “The Alzheimer Case” reached the 100,000 admissions mark less than 11 days after its release in Belgium, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund and Flanders Image reported in Brussels Monday.
After its second week of release, pic had registered 131,200 admissions, making it the best performing local production of the last 12 months.
Ticket sales rose by 25% in the second week of release, which distributor KFD called “unusual.” Ticket sales usually drop 30% in the second week of release.
Produced by Erwin Provoost and Hilde de Laere for MMG, pic opened this year’s Flanders Intl. Film Festival, where it won the audience award last week.
