Bollywood sci-fier wires B.O.

'E.T.' meets 'Forrest Gump' pic a smash in India

NEW DELHI — Bollywood’s first sci-fi pic, “Koi Mil Gaya” (Found Someone), starring Hrithik Roshan, has taken $3.2 million in India, the U.S. and the U.K. in its first week, giving the industry its first real moneyspinner of the year.

Pic, described as “E.T.” meets “Forrest Gump,” opened to packed houses on Aug. 8, with tickets selling on the black market for six times their $1.74 face value. Boffo sales are expected to continue during India’s festival holiday season.

“Found Someone” was helmed by Roshan’s father Rakesh Roshan with music by Rakesh’s brother Rajesh Roshan.

It’s the first time the three Roshans have worked together since their 2000 blockbuster “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” (Admit You’re in Love), which made Hrithik Roshan into an overnight star.
