BBC2 secures J.K. Rowling interview

Author reveals excerpts from latest Potter book

LONDON –- BBC’s “Newsnight” anchorman Jeremy Paxman has landed an exclusive interview with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

Interview will air in a special program on pubcaster BBC2 on June 19 at 7:30 p.m., ahead of the publication of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the long-awaited fifth novel in the series, on June 21.

Rowling will give a taster from the new book and provide an insight into the inspiration behind the novels as well as discuss the impact her books have had on children’s literature.

“She talks honestly about her fame, her wealth and the time she even considered breaking her arm to avoid the pressures of writing,” said Paxman. “As well as dropping some clues about what will happen in the ‘Order of the Phoenix,’ she raises intriguing new possibilities about Harry’s longer term future.”
